Kota’s mission is to create more equitable communities for marginalized women and girls through advocacy, arts & culture and health & wellness programs. Our work bridges local activism in West Harlem with women’s issues and social change globally.

The Kota Alliance is hosting TWO connected Art Workshops for the 2025 Art Exhibit, Threaded Realities: Women, Identity & Fashion on November 14th and November 21st!
Second Art Workshop 21/11: Walk & Talk
Join the artists of Threaded Realities: Women, Identity & Fashion for an intimate Walk & Talk through the exhibition. Hear firsthand how each artist’s work connects to the show’s central themes of identity, memory, rebellion, and power — and how fashion serves as a thread linking personal stories to collective experience.
This guided conversation invites visitors to engage directly with the artists, gain insight into their creative process, and explore the deeper meanings woven throughout Threaded Realities.

We are committed to centering the experiences of women, girls, and those with marginalized identities through an intersectional lens. Our approach addresses also issues faced by individuals with different racial, sexual, faith, and ability-based identities. We are dedicated to maintaining a safer, more welcoming space for all.

Our home the Kota Nest in West Harlem serves our members and our community as a space to gather, share ideas, and collaborate.
We offer community space, event space rentals, and room lodging for our local and global community.
